Key West

Jeb and I flew down to Key West in order to go to his dad’s wedding. Jeb had been there several times before, but for me it was my first time there. Unfortunately because of our work/school schedules we had to make it into a pretty short trip. We mostly just had time for wedding activities and time with his family. I didn’t even get a chance to have any key lime pie while we were there 🙁

They had a small wedding ceremony right on the beach and we were lucky enough to catch a really pretty sunset. Unfortunately I was tasked with taking pictures of the wedding on their camera so I actually didn’t end up with a single picture of the wedding on my own camera!

Unfortunately Jeb and I had a little bit of a rough trip. At about 2am in the morning on our first night in our hotel we discovered that our bed was infested with bed bugs… We definitely weren’t staying in that room for the rest of the night. Since it was a small hotel they didn’t have anyone on staff that night. So Jeb and I had nowhere to go. We tried to sleep on the chairs by the pool and were bitten alive by mosquitos. We then wandered the streets for hours and went to a Denny’s in the middle of the night for somewhere to go lol. We eventually got a new hotel for the next night but we literally pulled an all nighter and felt like zombies at the wedding.

We did have some of the best seafood I’ve ever had on the trip, and for sure the best fish tacos I’ve ever had! We also went to this cool place that had pretzels with tons of different kinds of mustard, and we bought spicy banana flavored hot sauce on the trip to take back.

Sometime we will definitely have to go back to Key West in order to go to Dry Tortugas National Park!
