Delaware 4th of July

Fourth of July is always one of our favorite holidays, so we make sure to do something fun to celebrate it! I think part of it for me at least was that they year we met, we met right before 4th of July, so it was the first holiday we ever spent together. For 4th of July in 2013 we decided to go up to Delaware and camp at a state park near the beach. We didn’t know that we would also be located right by this really neat looking bridge! The bridge was lit up a really pretty blue color at night, but unfortunately I didn’t get any good pictures of it.

It was definitely a hot trip of camping. We felt like every day we were there was like an eternity because by 6am we would be woken up by a combination of the birds and the heat, and it would be almost midnight before it felt like it was cool enough to crawl back into our hot sweaty tent. This made for some really long days!

I made sure to have a patriotic bikini to celebrate the holiday with! We brought our bikes along on the trip and we basically rode them everywhere. We ended up riding over 30 miles one of the days. We went beach hopping along the coast and over the course of the trip we went to Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, and Ocean city.

We went to Dewey Beach to see fireworks. They were trying to set some record for the quickest fireworks display- I guess the most amount of fireworks per minute or something like that, I’m really not sure exactly. It ended up being the most ridiculous fireworks I’ve ever seen because they shot off a ton of them insanely fast but then the whole thing was over in like maybe a minute total haha. It was very anti climatic!

Delaware may be a small state with not exactly tons to offer… but it does have some pretty nice beaches! This was definitely a fun way to spend the 4th of July!
